How to Measure

SHOULDERS
Measure from the tip of one shoulder to the other, across the top of your spine and at the base of the neck. The tape should follow your back’s natural curve.
Maybe it will help you if you find an old blazer on which you should measure

CHEST / BUST
Stand normally and comfortably and put a tape measure at the broadest part of your chest, inline with the nipples, leaving enough room to breath.

BUST LENGHT
Measure from the base of the neck at the shoulder seam to the nipple.

WAIST
Measure around the narrowest part of the waits. It helps to bend side to side to identify exactly where to measure.Slide a finger between the tape and your body to allow some room.

HIGH HIP
Measure around the fullest part of your hips. As always – measure snug, but not uncomfortably tight. Leave a room for one finger, holding the tape.

HIPS
Identify the largest part of your hips or butt, whichever spot above the thighs is the largest. Wrap the tape measure around your widest area. The tape measure should be loose for one finger so that you do not see compression of the skin.

SLEEVE LENGHT
Relax your arm by your side. Measure from the top of your shoulder (where the seams meet on a well fitting shirt). Measure down your arm (have the tape follow your arm) to the end of your well-fitting shirt. Do not make any adjustments to this number.

UPPER ARM CIRCUMFERENCE
The biggest part of the arm. Measure around the fullest part of your bicep. Measure snug, leaving room for one finger, holding the tape.

BLAZER LENGHT
Measure from the base of your collar, where the collar and shoulder seems meet, straight down to the level where you would like to have the end of the jacket.

IF HAVING A SKIRT
Stand with your back straight and your legs together in front of a full-length mirror. Instruct your friend to hold the end of the tape measure at the center of your natural waist. Direct your friend to extend the tape measure down to your knees or your preferred, desired hemline. Mark the number down on paper.

IF HAVING A DRESS
Stand with your back straight and your legs together in front of a full-length mirror. Instruct your friend to hold the end of the tape measure at the top center of your shoulder. Direct your friend to extend the tape measure along the front of your body, over the fullest part of your chest and down to your knees or your preferred, desired hemline. Mark the number down on paper.

WHILE MEASURING
1. It will help if you wear fitted clothing;
2. Stand with your feet together and the torso straight;
3. Make sure the tape is parallel to the floor;
4. Write down the first measurement and then take a second measurement.
